Common casino poker Terms
Diamonds:: One of the four suits of cards (there are 13 Diamonds in each deck of 52 cards).

Equity:: Your Expected Value of the pot, calculated as the size of the pot times your percent chance of winning (sort of a misleading/useless concept).
Expectation:: The amount of money you expect to gain over a given time period of playing casino poker. Calculated as the size of all the pots times your percent chance of winning.
Exposed Card:: Any card dealt face up (any of the Upcards in a game of Stud or Hold Em casino poker).
Face Card:: Name given to a Jack, Queen, or King of any suit of cards.
Family Pot:: A pot in which all players have entered.
Fast Company:: Highly experienced casino poker players.
Favorite:: The hand that is expected to win the pot, given the current situation (Ace-Ace before the Flop).
Fifth Street:: In Seven Card Stud, it is the fifth card dealt to players (and the third round of betting). In Texas Hold Em, it is the fifth community card dealt and the final round of betting (The River).
Fill:: To draw a card that makes a complete five card hand (Full House, Straight, Flush).
Fish:: A bad casino poker player. If you cannot determine who the Fish is at your table, it's probably YOU.
Fishhooks:: Jacks.
Fishing:: A player who stays in a casino poker game longer than he probably should, trying to get the card(s) that will make his hand a winner.
Five Card Draw:: A casino poker game in which each player is dealt five cards (all down). The players have one draw to replace a certain number of cards, and there are generally two rounds of betting.
Five Card Stud:: A casino poker game in which each player is dealt five cards (one down and four up). There are four rounds of betting.
Fixed Limit:: A casino poker game is a Fixed-Limit game if the betting structure for each round is predetermined (a $3-$6 table).
Flat Call:: Like calling, but pointing out that you didn't raise.
Flop:: casino poker games such as Texas Hold Em and Omaha are played with five community cards (dealt face up). The Flop is the name for the first three community cards, which are all dealt at the same time. Games that use a Flop are often called Flop games.
Flush:: Five cards of the same suit.
Fold:: AKA Drop. To abandon your casino poker hand (you lose the hand).
Forced Bet:: A required bet that starts the action on the first round of a hand (a Blind is a type of Forced Bet).
Foul:: Unplayable hand because of a conflict with the rules of the game or house rules.
Four of a Kind:: AKA Quads. Four cards of the same rank.
Fourth Street:: In Seven Card Stud, it is the fourth card dealt to players (and the second round of betting). In Texas Hold Em, it is the fourth community card dealt and the third round of betting (The Turn).
Free Card:: When you get to see the next card without having to call a bet, as in when all players check.
Freeroll:: When you have a hand that will at least share the pot and may win the whole pot.
Freeroll Tournaments:: casino poker tournaments with no entry fee or initial Buy-In.
Freeze-out:: A tournament format in which you are not allowed to Re-Buy.
Full House:: A hand with of three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank.
Gallery:: Spectators observing a particular casino poker table or tournament.
Give Action:: To gamble with another player, usually with a larger pot than expected given the particular situation and hand(s).
Going Home Hand:: A hand on which a player wagers his last casino poker chips or money (he'll go home if he loses).

Hole:: Your first two down cards are In the Hole (face down).
Hole Card:: In Stud and Hold Em casino poker games, the face down cards dealt to each player are called Hole Cards.
House:: The casino or cardroom hosting the casino poker game.
Immortal:: An unbeatable hand.
Improve:: To make a better hand, usually by catching a needed card.
In The Hole:: A card dealt face down. Also refers to by how much you are losing a game.
In The Money:: Lasting long enough in a tournament to guarantee winning some money.
Inside Straight:: Four cards of a Straight which require a card between the top and the bottom card to complete the Straight. For example, 5-7-8-9 is an Inside Straight, while 5-6-7-8 is an Outside Straight.
Insurance:: A side bet between two players (or a third party), occasionally used in rounds with an uncomfortably large pot. A player might offer to sell his hand to the other player for the probability of winning/losing the hand (take Insurance).
Isolate:: To raise with the intention of reducing the hand to just you and one other particular player (to Isolate that player).
Jack:: The face card that ranks between the 10 and the Queen.
Jackpot:: Some cardrooms offer jackpots, and rules vary. Certain portions of the jackpot go to the loser, winner, and other players when a player holds a very good hand (usually Aces Full or better) and still loses the hand.
Jacks or Better:: A type of casino poker game in which a player needs to have at least a Pair of Jacks to open the betting.
Jam:: To bet or raise the maximum allowed, especially in No-Limit casino poker.
Joker:: (AKA Wild Card). The 53rd card in a deck. The Joker can be called whatever suit and rank the holder wants it to be.
